SEER - Systemic Embodied Experiential Reprocessing

Roderick is a trainer with SEER.  SEER was developed by Dzmitry Karpuk as a way of addressing trauma in a safe and progressive way. SEER understands that trauma goes beyond cognition and even language and neuroscience is changing the way we think about it now, and most current therapy modalities have tended to focus in one particular area. SEER addresses the whole field of experience that is trauma suffering and adjustment.

Psychological Trauma

Psychological trauma is an online presence and resource for therapists who deal with trauma sufferers. It's mission is to help both sufferers and practitioners of trauma and complex trauma  by providing a comprehensive, high quality, trauma-led continuum of education, interventions, understanding and treatment services. Roderick has been involved in the development and running of the site. “In response to threat and injury, animals, including humans, execute biologically based, non-conscious action patterns that prepare them to meet the threat and defend themselves. The very structure of trauma, including activation, dissociation and freezing are based on the evolution of survival behaviors. When threatened or injured, all animals draw from a "library" of possible responses. We orient, dodge, duck, stiffen, brace, retract, fight, flee, freeze, collapse, etc. All of these coordinated responses are somatically based - they are things that the body does to protect and defend itself. It is when these orienting and defending responses are overwhelmed that we see trauma. Peter Levine
