Am grateful for the responses to my first blog. Made me think about what I'm actually trying to achieve here. "Awareness is the only goal in therapy" - is a quote which resonated with me years ago and this is where I'm coming from. If I can increase awareness of the subject of trauma and the many different ways of looking at it, treating it and engaging with it then I will think I have done an OK job. My subjective, lived experience of trauma has led me down the path of understanding embodiment and the undefinable resonances that exist ( and can be disowned) between people and how an attunement to that resonance can produce healing so in many ways that's where my default setting is. Having said that I am beginning to see links between my subjective experience and some of the more theoretical, scientific or intellectual approaches that exist - or are emerging. One thing I know for certain is I am not and never will be an expert - for me the expert is always the relationship.
Welcome to my Blog. I'm quite new to this so it may take a while before everything looks fabulous. Basically I will be keeping you up to date with what's happening in my world of trauma and readjustment. I welcome any comments or suggestions from others also. Trauma is a massive subject area that no one person can really grasp fully. Ultimately it will be a subjective viewpoint but I will try and keep as wide a perspective as I possibly can.
